Position Summary
Provide direct support to the Director of Athletics and be a support resource to all head coaches. Coordinate and maintain day-to-day functions of the Athletic Department.
Essential Functions
- Attending university and conference meetings as requested by the Director of Athletics.
- Work as a liaison between all coaches, the Director of Athletics, Ðǿմ«Ã½, Financial Aid, and the accounting office.
- Organize and maintain all athletic tracer requests, releases, and notice of contacts in regard to eligibility.
- Manage and run NAIA eligibility for all sports on time for fall and spring seasons.
- Manage and submit reports for athletic award submissions, NAIA annual report, and internal reports needed by Senior Leadership Team.
- Help work and coordinate all CCC athletic events that Northwest is required to host.
- Attend the NAIA national convention once every three to four years.
- Respond appropriately to injury situations, providing First Aid/CPR assistance as needed and appropriate FA/CPR/BP training standards.
- Coordinate youth sports camps with coaches and the City of Kirkland.
- Assist with implementation and reporting for the annual NU Athletics Giving Week
- Performs other work-related duties as assigned by the director of Athletics.
- Lead fundraising efforts for the department.
Education/Experience/Skills
Mandatory
- Master's degree in athletically oriented field or related field and/or equivalent experience
- Experience in coaching and/or directing athletic programs, or the equivalent
- 2-3 years experience in collegiate athletics
- Strong organizational and leadership skills
- Strong interpersonal, and written and verbal presentation skills
- Possess current, recognized certification in First Aid, CPR, and Bloodborne pathogens training, or committed to becoming so certified within three months of employment
- Demonstrate commitment to maintaining a safe work environment free of harassment, violence, and unlawful discrimination
- Ability to communicate effectively, get along well with co-workers, and deal effectively and professionally with colleagues
Preferred
- Doctoral degree in athletically oriented field or related field and/or equivalent experience
- Three to five years of experience in coaching and/or directing athletic programs, or the equivalent
- Proven quality organizational and leadership skills
- Proven interpersonal, and written and verbal presentation skills
Working Environment
- Work is generally performed indoors in a typical office setting.
- Some weekend/evening work is required.
- Travel, including overnight travel, may be required.
- Position works with strictly confidential information.
- Requires work in outdoor weather conditions, including wet, extreme cold, and extreme heat.
- Frequently required to be in front of a computer screen for long periods of time.
- May be exposed to loud noise levels.
Physical Demands
The functions are usually performed while standing, but may involve some amount of time sitting, stooping, kneeling, bending, crouching, lifting (max. of 40 lbs.), walking, carrying, reaching, stretching, climbing, perform repetitive motions of the hands or wrists and other movements. The abilities of seeing, hearing, and speaking are also required.
Compensation
Based on education and experience, the position has a hiring range of $25.50/hour to $27.23/hour plus excellent benefits.
