
Dr. Ellen McMahon

Dr. McMahon is an adjunct professor at Ðǿմ«Ã½. She also maintains a successful private practice in addition to providing instruction and supervision for students.
Education and Experience:
Dr. McMahon earned a PsyD (2019) and MA (2016) in Counseling Psychology from Ðǿմ«Ã½ after a career as a traffic engineer at the City of Kirkland (2000-2007). Dr. McMahon also has a master’s in business administration degree from Seattle University (1996) and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Washington (1988).
She teaches a variety of classes at Ðǿմ«Ã½ primarily related to the history of psychology, psychopathology and psychology methods with an emphasis on diagnosis, case conceptualization and treatment planning.
Dr. McMahon serves adolescent, adult and couples in her private therapy practice. She has experience working with a variety of mental illnesses and enjoys helping clients recover from trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship conflict and other mental health concerns utilizing standard of care treatment plans and evidence based interventions.
Special interests
Cooking, gardening, hosting family gatherings, Bible Study, swimming and hiking.
