Background
Dr. Lampson began her professional career working in student development at Seattle Pacific University. Her enjoyment of counseling students led her to pursue a doctorate in counseling psychology. Although her undergraduate and masters degrees were in higher education, she left academia when she finished her doctorate and went into private practice. During this time, Dr. Lampson kept one toe in higher education, teaching occasional classes at SPU, Bellevue College, and Seattle University. Now a professor at Ðǿմ«Ã½, she has come full circle and is able to integrate her love for therapy with her God given desire to teach students.
Dr. Lampson has been the clinical director of NUhope since 2016. Supervising and training the next generation of therapists is very gratifying for her. Dr. Lampson maintains a part-time private practice that compliments and enhances her work with students. In addition, Dr. Lampson is a Certified Gottman Therapist and is passionate about training students to be highly effective couples therapists. Her most recent project has been the development of Gottman-RED, a couples therapy for couples in which one person has an eating disorder.
Her book, Counseling Those with Eating Disorders: A Clinician’s Guide to Gottman-RED Couples Therapy with a foreword by John and Julie Gottman, will be released in December 2024.
