90 Days of Prayer (January 2-March 31)

As we begin the ninetieth calendar year of Ðǿմ«Ã½, we are asking every member of our community to join with us in 90 days of prayer. Here’s why:
- It’s 90 days—one day for each of the years we have operated in God’s blessing. As we pray, we will be giving thanks to God for divine faithfulness in all those years, and in the ones ahead.
- We need God’s blessing spiritually. As a university that strives to put Jesus First, Jesus Always, we root our practices in the light of the Scriptures. But to offer higher education in God’s presence and in the anointing of the Holy Spirit, we must not only study the Bible but also seek God’s continual touch upon our community. Pray that God would richly inhabit our life and work together, touching and inspiring every student and faculty member and employee to walk closely with Christ.
- University education is expensive no matter what we do, and we try hard to keep the cost to students as low as possible. That means we need financial support from those who love and value our unique mission. So pray for the Lord’s blessings on our finances and for generous support from our donors, old and new.
- We need God’s blessing in our enrollment. Pray for a rebound in enrollment in the aftermath of the COVID-19 years. The pandemic led to a drop in our numbers that has persisted in the following years, and which has negatively impacted the number of students preparing for a calling to church ministry. This year’s admissions trends signal a return to growth, and we expect a successful launch of our Physician Assistant and Physical Therapy programs. Pray that this trend will continue and that we will see remarkable growth in the face of today’s challenges in higher education. Pray also that many young people will perceive a call to Church ministry and come to Northwest for a thorough preparation for ministry.
We could get more granular in terms of how to pray for us. Every aspect of our work needs God’s involvement if we are to fulfill our mission. But whether you pray long or short, in detail or in general, we hope you’ll join us for 90 days. Many of us will be fasting and praying in different formats and styles over the course of the three months, and there is no wrong way to do it. Would you make a commitment to pray with us by signing up at this website. We won’t publish the names, but we’d like to know who is praying with us.
