Charting the Future: A New Year
Happy 2023! We are excited about the wonderful things we will see God do this year as students come back from Christmas break and chapel services fire up again. Things will be noisier this year, as we are in the middle of a major remodeling project to extend the life of the Butterfield Chapel and improve the appearance and functionality of this wonderful building from the 1960s that has seen so many wondrous experiences with God and among students. Some have found Christ as Savior there. Others have found spouses or lifelong friends. Many have perceived a call to ministry or been baptized in the Holy Spirit or healed. Others have experienced the miraculous power and gifts of God.
We’ll be announcing more details about the remodel next month and how you can help. But for now, we invite you to create a short video that recounts an experience of why the Butterfield Chapel is special to you. Maybe you were a student, staff member, or professor at Northwest, or perhaps you attended one of the churches that have met in our chapel over the years. Perhaps you visited the campus for a special service. Whatever the case, God met you in the Butterfield Chapel! As an example, I have told a couple of my own chapel stories in the video below. You can visit the Worship Center Campaign page for instructions on making your own mobile phone video and uploading it to our stories page.
We believe these stories will remind us all of what God has done over the years, and they will inspire us to pray for future classes at Ðǿմ«Ã½ to experience God in the Butterfield Chapel the way we have. God has never stopped pouring out the Holy Spirit on us, but we need to ensure that students always have a beautiful, functional place to seek God on our campus. And with the remodel of our Butterfield Chapel, they will.
May God renew your spirit and revive your passion for Christ in 2023!
