Become a Teacher After College
You Have a Degree—Now You Want to Make a Difference
If you’ve recently graduated with a bachelor’s degree in a non-education field and are now thinking, “I want to teach”—you’re not alone.
Many college grads discover their passion for education after completing their degree. The good news is, you don’t need to go back for another bachelor’s. You can become a teacher quickly, with the right program.
At Ðǿմ«Ã½, the Master in Teaching (MIT) program is designed specifically for people like you—those who have a degree, but not in education, and want to earn a teaching license in Washington State while also getting a master’s degree.
Can You Really Become a Teacher with a Non-Education Degree?
Absolutely. If you already have a bachelor’s degree—even in something like psychology, history, biology, or business—you can apply to a Master in Teaching program and earn both your teaching license and a graduate degree in one streamlined pathway.
At Ðǿմ«Ã½, students complete their MIT program in just 10 months (or 16 months if you choose to add SPED or ELL endorsement). By this time next year, you could be teaching in your own classroom.
