Many people work for a paycheck and little else. They find themselves going through the motions with little passion for their daily work. Imagine a job where you could shape the next generation—knowing that your life was making a difference. Now, imagine that this could all become a reality in less than one year.
Our Master in Teaching program is designed for those with an undergraduate degree who’d like to get their teaching certificate. In as little as one year, you’ll be standing in front of your own classroom—shaping minds, changing lives. And living with passion.

Why Choose Ðǿմ«Ã½?
Professional Reputation
Ðǿմ«Ã½ has strong, long-standing relationships with local school districts and private schools, and our Master in Teaching degree is highly respected. You will benefit from a program that not only prepares you for the challenges of teaching but also ensures your credentials are recognized and highly sought after.
Professors With Practical Expertise
You will benefit from the experience of distinguished faculty composed of university professors and master practitioners in local schools. Our dual instructional approach integrates academic rigor with practical insights, offering a comprehensive educational experience that prepares you to excel in the teaching profession.
Personalized Support
The advantage of choosing our program is the personalized attention you will receive. Our staff and faculty genuinely care about your success and create an environment where you are known, supported, and encouraged.
The Master in Teaching program uses a cohort model where candidates take courses together and complete student teaching on the same timeline. This unique structure fosters peer support and encouragement that graduates often note as a highlight of their Northwest experience.
Effective and Efficient
As a graduate of our program, you will earn the Washington State Residency Teaching Certificate and the Master in Teaching degree simultaneously. This means you can begin your career with a master’s degree and—very likely—at the higher salary that accompanies your graduate degree.
The MIT program is designed for people who are working full-time. All classes meet at night and on occasional Saturdays. (Please note, however, that student teaching will be accomplished during daytime hours.)
There are two ways to complete the Master in Teaching program: the two year MIT and the one-year intensive. The two-year program allows students with significant work or family obligations to complete the program on a part-time basis. The one-year intensive allows you to complete the program in ten months.
Affordably Priced
A world-class education is more affordable than you might think. In fact, our tuition is among the most competitive you’ll find. And when the year is over, you won’t just have a new career. You’ll have one with meaning. It’s hard to put a price tag on that.

My love for science came from a middle school teacher. I want to be that same example today for my students in the Snohomish County area—to use my research background to inspire in them an appreciation for science.
