Admission Requirements for the Bachelor of Science in Nursing
Admission Requirements
Applicants must meet the following admission requirements to be eligible to apply for admission to the BSN program. All requirements must be met prior to the NursingCAS application deadline (January 31, 8:59 pm, PST).
Please Note: Meeting the minimum criteria for consideration of admission neither implies nor guarantees admission to the program.
Admission Criteria
- Acceptance to Ðǿմ«Ã½ is required for application to the BSON.
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher is required in the BSON’s prerequisite courses.
- Minimum grade of 2.7 is required in each of the following BSON core prerequisite courses:
- Survey of Organic and Biochemistry with Lab
- Anatomy and Physiology I with Lab
- Anatomy and Physiology II with Lab
- General Psychology
- No more than six prerequisite courses, including one core prerequisite course, may be pending by the application due date. Include a written plan for completing the outstanding prerequisites.
- Prerequisite courses must be completed by June 30 for fall admission.
- Ðǿմ«Ã½ Bible and Theology courses must be completed on or before the last day of the summer term.
- Written self-analysis essays are required.
- Qualified applicants will also be required to complete an asynchronous interview.
- If all requirements are not completed as specified, applications will not be considered.
Immunizations Requirements
Students are expected to be up to date on all required immunizations and boosters. Clinical sites require these immunizations and exemptions are not granted.
Required Immunizations
- Hepatitis A
- Hepatitis B
- MMR
- TB (PPD or QuantiFERON-Gold)
- Tdap
- Varicella (Chicken Pox)
- Influenza (Must be administered in August prior to the first day of your Junior and Senior year.)
Highly Recommended Immunizations
- COVID-19
- Polio Series
Immunization requirements for nursing students are determined by our clinical partners and may change at any time without prior notice. These requirements are based on current public health guidance and site-specific policies intended to protect patients, staff, and students.
The School of Nursing does not have the authority to grant exemptions or make exceptions to any immunization requirements established by clinical sites. All students must remain in compliance with current immunization standards in order to participate in clinical experiences. Failure to meet these requirements may result in a delay or inability to progress in the program.
